NJ Virtual Herd
NJ Virtual Herd is the result of some creativity during COVID-19 shutdown and now post pandemic damage as a way for our professional four-legged therapists and teachers to continue the important work they do. In early March 2020 we were preparing for and anticipating a banner year, the most milestones in place that we had ever hoped for.
On March 16th everything we had worked towards for more than a decade came to an abrupt halt. Though our work is NCAIS coded for out-patient mental health and should have been an “essential business” along with the ability to social distance and work outdoors most of our contracts were through state, county, or community outlets which shut off completely. For various reasons being forced to shutdown for nearly 2 years has crushed both our businesses… (lost our volunteers, lost fundraising, lost board members, lost visibility, and more)…Now in 2022, we are struggling to get back to work and Horses do eat like Horses. We are not a rescue, they are not pets. This is a special herd of award winning service animals, they have helped thousands of humans in New Jersey from 2010 to 2020. NJ Virtual Herd is a way for them to survive, until and during our return to normal! All of our Herd Members are available for special messaging, cameo appearances for events, parties, or corporate online meetings.
At Spring Reins of Hope llc (and Spring Reins of Life 501c3) for over a decade we are in the business of changing, improving, and saving lives of thousands of humans with the guidance of horses... and donkeys! New Jersey Virtual Herd (NJVH) is a subsidiary of Spring Reins of Hope (benefits Spring Reins of Life 501c3), proceeds from these virtual services support The Herd in rents, utilities, hay, feed, etc. during our forced Covid19 unemployment. For the past decade these furry colleagues’ have been invested in rebuilding and saving the lives of thousands of humans here in New Jersey. We are all eager to get back to our regular work helping people in person, and at the same time we are shifting to provide a valuable service in complete virtual mode.
